The SBIG STF series provides very good cost/performance ratio with low noise and fast readout speeds. The STF series supports filter wheels and an optional off-axis guider for use with the SBIG ST-I camera. For higher cooling and adaptive optics support please see our Aluma camera line. The STF-402M is targeted at scientific applications includes an optional internal filter wheel supporting both photometric UBVC and LRGB imaging. The STF-1603M is essentially the same camera with a larger sensor. The STF-8300 includes the popular KAF-8300 sensor, an 8 megapixel camera with good sensitivity. The STF-3200M is the ultimate in sensitivity, with 85% peak quantum efficiency. Our AO-8T and AO-X adaptive optics units provide fast, precise positioning control without the lag, backlash, stiction, and other problems associated with telescope mounts. These units can eliminate image motion due to telescope drive inaccuracies, wind gusts, and other random disturbances. When operating at high rates the AO units can reduce the impact of seeing, resulting in tighter star images and higher resolution. For Aluma series cameras, use the AO-8A. For STX and STXL series cameras, use the AO-X. For the obsolete STT series cameras, use the AO-8T.View Products
SBIG has a wide range of filter wheels to support all of our cooled camera series. CFW-402 internal wheels for the STF-402 camera include both photometric and LRGB versions. FW8-8300 wheels work with our STF camera series. FW8G-Aluma and FW8S-Aluma wheels work with our Aluma camera series, and include mechanical detents and optional built-in self-guiding. FW8G-STXL and FW8S-STXL wheels work with our large format STXL camera series, and include mechanical detents and optional built-in self-guiding. For the largest format STX cameras, the FW7-STX and STX Guider provide filtered imaging with self-guiding.View Products
We offer a range of color, narrowband, and photometric filters for each of our camera series. We offer filters custom-made for SBIG, and filter from and Custom Scientific. Smaller STF sensors use 1.25" filters. Larger sensor STF models use 36 mm filters, as does the Aluma camera series. STXL cameras use 50 mm round sensors. STX cameras use either 50 mm square or 65 mm square depending on the filter wheel choice.View Products
