SBIG Aluma AC455

The Aluma AC455 is a research grade, high performance 61 megapixel scientific imaging camera.

The IMX455 sensor features extremely high quantum efficiency, and produces low-noise 16-bit images with high dynamic range.  It covers an image area of 41 mm x 31 mm with 3.76 micron square pixels, resulting in high resolution 61 megapixel images.  For the utmost in reliability and speed, the Aluma AC455 features a 10 gigabit-per-second Ethernet interface.

You can select either the standard Monochrome version, Aluma AC455M, or the one-shot color Aluma AC455C.  For the best imaging results we recommend selecting the Monochrome model and add an AFW filter wheel.

SBIG AFW Filter Wheels – optional

SBIG AFW Filter Wheels are fast and quiet, and are designed to be compatible with our full line of SBIG cameras.  Two size formats are available:

Large Format AFW wheels are ultra-thin, minimizing back focus distance. The standard version, which accommodates filters ranging from 1 mm to 3 mm thick, uses only 0.55" (14 mm) back focus. The tall version, which accommodates 5 mm thick filters, uses only 0.65" (16.5 mm) back focus.

Compact Format AFW wheels are a lower-cost option for our compact Aluma CCD and STC-428 cameras.  For users needing more filter slots, an adapter is also available to interface our compact format cameras to a Large Format AFW-16-36R.

SBIG StarChaser SC-4 Off-Axis Guider Camera – optional

The SBIG StarChaser SC-4 is your all-in-one solution for off-axis guiding. It is the world's best off-axis guiding camera, measuring only 0.875″ (22.23 mm) thick. It includes an easy-to-adjust pick-off mirror, 0.7x focal reducer for wider field of view, quick-turn manual focus mechanism, mechanical dark frame shutter, and 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera with large 4.5um pixels. It directly supports the SBIG AO-X and AO-8A adaptive optics, and includes an upgradeable license of our renowned MaxIm LT software.

Single Filter Holder for Large Format Cameras – optional

This adapter allows you to mount a single filter in front of our large format cameras, including the Aluma AC series and the older STX and STXL series.  It is compatible with 50 mm square x 2 mm thick filters.

The adapter consists of two identical flat plates that gently clamp the filter in place, which is inserted under the front nosepiece adapter (the standard "STX style" adapter ring is shown here).  The mounting screws for the nosepiece adapter securely clamp the adapter in place.

Two sets of longer mounting screws are included.  The first allows for attachment directly to a camera, filter wheel, or AO.  The second, even longer set works with StarChaser SC-4.

OM3 Fiber Optic Cable – optional
